Long ago, those who decided to delve into online marketing relied on static sites for their promotional efforts. Not anymore. Technology advances at lightning speed — sometimes it scares the heck out of me. However, this only means more and better opportunities for online marketers and who wouldn’t want that, right? The advent of Web 2.0 opened up horizons for online marketers such that the possibilities have become endless for the resourceful person. Static sites were replaced with dynamic web sites of various back-ends which made updating easy as 1-2-3. Networking is possible for everyone who’s marginally capable of communicating in social networking web sites. In short, the prospects of online marketing have never been better. So, what does web 2.0 marketing mean exactly?
In essence, web 2.0 is a term coined for the new generation of web sites and services in cyberspace. Everything’s dynamic, everything’s put in a new perspective. Here are some examples of web 2.0 marketing:

- Press Release (PR blasting to several PR web sites)
In essence, all the above could be done simultaneously so the possible outcome is astronomical. Just imagine the audience you could reach combining all these methods. While PR releases might reach the more old-fashioned crowd, blogs, podcasts, and marketing through social networking web sites, for example, could reach the younger crowd. If your niche won’t usually appeal people from other niches, having them in social bookmarking sites could make the difference since all kinds of people visit them. In a nutshell, web 2.0 marketing encompasses a wide spectrum that could catch the attention not only of your target audience but of the rest of the world as well.
